Behind the Flame - The Process

Every piece begins with fire...

MELT.....

Glass rods are slowly heated to over 1000°C, shaped in the fire with breath, motion, and patience. This is the ancient art of lampworking — melting glass to make beads, a dance between heat and hand, where transformation happens in real time.

But The Glass Flower Bar is not just about beads.

Jennies signature technique involves melting glass directly onto thin wires, sculpting wild, botanical forms — petals, leaves, stems — one element at a time. These are shaped entirely by hand, then assembled into statement jewellery and artful glass floral arrangements. No shortcuts. Pieces can be reproduced but will never be exactly the same.

COOL...

Once formed, each piece is placed in a kiln for annealing — a slow, controlled cooling process that strengthens the glass and reduces stress, giving it lasting durability. What begins fragile becomes something that will endure for generations to come.

CREATE...

Our jewellery is handcrafted with stainless steel for strength, longevity, and hypoallergenic wear — often paired with industrial elements like rubber, leather, and other metals. The result? Pieces that are equal parts feminine and fierce. Made to be worn. Made to be seen.

For remembrance pieces, a small amount of cremains is carefully introduced into the molten glass. It becomes part of the form — fused within it. A quiet way to hold memory in something beautiful.

Our process is more than technique — it’s transformation. From raw material to something meaningful, personal, and made to last.
